Based in Weaverville, North Carolina, Ivan Rosenberg has played with several bluegrass bands including Iron Lasso and Chris Stuart and Backcountry. With 3 acclaimed CDs of original resonator guitar music to his credit, Ivan's songs have appeared in HBO's "Deadwood" and the Warner Brothers/Jerry Bruckheimer film "Kangaroo Jack."
He has taught at the California Bluegrass Association Music Camp, the British Columbia Bluegrass Workshop, and the Sore Fingers bluegrass workshop in the United Kingdom, and has a knack for presenting difficult techniques in an easy-to-understand and relaxed style.In this lesson, Ivan demonstrates how to identify and remember commonly used first-position areas of the fret board, which makes it easy to find a bluegrass melody.He then explains how to incorporate rolls, slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs, and other essential dobro techniques to create a coherent and interesting bluegrass solo.
